Ms. Chen, a woman from Malaysia, was diagnosed with parotid gland cancer after discovering a small lump behind her right ear in 2015. At first, she underwent surgery and 33 sessions of radiotherapy in her home country. Unfortunately, despite enduring painful treatments and severe side effects, the cancer later spread toward her right eye. Doctors then advised another surgery that would require removing her eye completely. The news left her frightened and hopeless.

Wanting to preserve her eye and continue living normally, Ms. Chen searched for alternative treatment options online. Eventually, she found St. Stamford Modern Cancer Hospital Guangzhou and decided to travel to China alone in 2017 for further treatment.

After detailed examinations, the hospital’s multidisciplinary team recommended a minimally invasive treatment plan combining Interventional Therapy and Particle Implantation Therapy. Unlike conventional surgery, these treatments targeted the tumor directly with less trauma and fewer side effects.

The results surprised her. Only a few days after the first treatment, the swelling around her eye noticeably decreased. After completing four interventional treatments and particle implantation, the tumor was successfully controlled, her facial appearance gradually returned to normal, and most importantly, her right eye was preserved.

Ms. Chen shared that the minimally invasive treatments allowed her to continue daily life without major disruption. She described the experience as feeling more like taking short trips for treatment rather than suffering through aggressive surgeries and chemotherapy.

More than six years later, Ms. Chen continues living positively while keeping her cancer under control. During her treatment journey, she also became a source of encouragement for other cancer patients by sharing optimism and emotional support. Her story reflects courage, hope, and the importance of seeking treatments that prioritize both survival and quality of life.
